The TL;DR

Which one should you pick?

If you need a one-line answer: Eden is the better fit for hybrid teams that want an integrated suite — desks, rooms, visitors, deliveries, and internal ticketing — under one bill, with predictable per-resource pricing. Envoy is the better fit if visitor management is your number-one priority and budget isn't a major constraint.

Choose Eden if you…

Want one integrated workplace suite without the price tag.
  • Need desk booking, room scheduling, visitor management, deliveries, and internal ticketing in a single platform
  • Prefer à la carte pricing where you only pay for the modules you actually use
  • Manage 50–2,000 employees across 1–10 locations
  • Want Slack and Microsoft Teams as first-class interfaces, not afterthoughts
  • Value being heard on the roadmap — Eden ships customer-requested features regularly
  • Need to roll out fast (most customers go live in under 2 weeks)

Choose Envoy if you…

Need enterprise-grade visitor management above all else.
  • Have a security-conscious front desk in regulated industries (pharma, banking, defense)
  • Process hundreds of visitors per day across many high-traffic locations
  • Need deep visitor compliance features like watchlist scanning and access-control deep integration
  • Have budget for premium pricing plus separate platform fees
  • Are already standardized on Apple hardware for sign-in kiosks
  • Don't need internal ticketing as part of your workplace stack

Two Different Approaches

How each platform thinks about the workplace

Eden and Envoy started in different places — and it shows in the product DNA today.

Eden

Built as an integrated workplace suite from day one

Eden launched as an all-in-one platform for the hybrid office, with desk booking, rooms, visitors, deliveries, and internal ticketing designed to work together from the start. The thesis: workplace teams shouldn't need to stitch together five vendors. The tools should share one floor plan, one employee directory, one set of permissions, and one bill.

That integration is the headline. The trade-off is that Eden's individual modules are less feature-deep than category specialists — but for most mid-market teams, that's a feature, not a bug.

Envoy

Started as visitor management. Expanded out from there.

Envoy launched in 2013 as a digital sign-in iPad app. It built deep, polished visitor management — the gold standard in the category — and then added desks, rooms, and deliveries as the workplace evolved toward hybrid. The visitor product remains the strongest piece of the suite by a clear margin.

Industry reviewers consistently note that Envoy's desk booking feels "tacked onto a visitor-first platform" and that pricing requires careful modeling because of the layered platform fees on top of per-resource costs.

Real-World Pricing

What this actually costs

Generic per-seat prices don't tell the real story for either platform. Here's a worked example based on a realistic mid-market deployment.

Example scenario: 1 office location · 100 employees · 60 bookable desks · 6 conference rooms · ~200 visitors/month · ~40 deliveries/week · 2 ticketing agents (IT) · annual billing
Eden — Annual cost

~$8,148/year

Desk Booking — 60 desks × $2.25/mo$1,620
Room Scheduling — 6 rooms × $15/mo$1,080
Visitor Management Accelerate — 1 location × $89/mo$1,068
Deliveries Accelerate — 1 location × $149/mo$1,788
Internal Ticketing — 2 agents × $49/mo$1,176
Annual discount applied (10%+)included
Total$6,732–$8,148
~30–45% lower than Envoy equivalent

Eden requires a minimum purchase of 25 desks, but above that threshold you buy the exact number you need — no bundling into additional sets of 25. The 60-desk line item above reflects the actual desk count for this scenario.

Envoy — Annual cost

~$11,500–13,800/year

Visitors Standard — 1 location$1,308
Reservations Standard — 66 resources × $60/yr (desks + rooms)$3,960
Deliveries Enterprise — $3,000/location/yr$3,000
Internal TicketingNot offered*
Platform fee (Reservations + Deliveries)$3,200–5,500
Total$11,468–13,768

*Internal ticketing requires a separate tool (Zendesk, Jira Service Management, ServiceNow) — typically $25–50/agent/month on top, adding $600–1,200/yr for the same 2-agent setup. Envoy's platform fee varies by deal size and modules; estimate based on publicly observed mid-market quotes.

Pricing examples reflect publicly listed rates as of May 2026 and may not match negotiated enterprise contracts. Both vendors discount for multi-year commits.

An Honest Take

When Envoy is genuinely the right choice over Eden

We're not going to pretend Eden is the better fit for every team. Envoy is a category leader for a reason, and there are clear scenarios where it's the right call:

  • You process 500+ visitors per week and need watchlist scanning, ID verification, and per-visitor-type sign-in flows.
  • You're in pharma, biotech, financial services, or government and your security team requires ISO 27001 certification from day one.
  • Visitor management is 80%+ of your workplace software need and the other modules are nice-to-have.
  • You already use Envoy and would rather expand than migrate — and budget isn't the binding constraint.
  • You need 100+ specific integrations including niche access-control hardware, sales tools, or wifi systems.
  • You manage 5,000+ employees across 20+ global locations and need Envoy's enterprise account team and SLA depth.

If any of those describe you, talk to Envoy. We'd rather you pick the right tool than the wrong tool with our logo on it.

Real Customer Voice

What teams say after switching to Eden

Customer testimonial section — placeholder copy below pending Eden's review of approved customer quotes from BARK, America's Test Kitchen, and other Eden customers who previously used point solutions or Envoy.

A huge selling point for us was that we were going to be able to move quickly, and implementation was so easy. If I had to do things the way we were doing it before, it would have been a huge time suck.

Common Questions

Eden vs Envoy: questions buyers actually ask

Is Eden cheaper than Envoy?
In most mid-market deployments (50–500 employees, 1–3 locations), Eden comes in 25–45% lower than the equivalent Envoy bundle, mostly because Envoy layers a separate platform fee on top of per-resource costs and prices Deliveries higher per location. For very small offices using only Visitors, Envoy's free Visitors Basic plan is hard to beat — but the moment you add Reservations or Deliveries, the math tilts toward Eden.
Why are Eden desks sold in sets of 25?
They're no longer sold that way. Eden does maintain a minimum purchase requirement of 25 desks, but customers can purchase the exact number of desks they need above that threshold — no bundling into additional sets of 25. This is typically discussed during the demo and purchasing process.
Does Eden have visitor management as polished as Envoy's?
Honestly, Envoy's visitor management is more mature — they've been building it since 2013 and it's their flagship. Eden's Visitor Management covers all the core needs (pre-registration, iPad kiosk, NDA e-sign, badge printing, photo capture, custom flows, access control integrations) and is sufficient for the vast majority of mid-market offices. Where Envoy pulls ahead: watchlist scanning, virtual front desk / remote receptionist, and the deepest catalog of access-control hardware integrations. If those are deal-breakers, choose Envoy.
Does Envoy have internal ticketing?
No. Envoy does not offer an internal ticketing or help desk module. If you need to manage IT, facilities, or HR support requests, you'd need to pair Envoy with a separate ticketing tool like Zendesk, Jira Service Management, or Freshservice — adding $25–50 per agent per month on top of Envoy. Eden's Internal Ticketing module is native and included in the same platform, dashboard, and bill.
How long does it take to switch from Envoy to Eden?
Most teams go live on Eden within 1–2 weeks of signing. The visitor data migration (visitor records, recurring guests, NDAs on file) is the longest piece and we have a documented playbook for it. Floor plans, desk neighborhoods, room calendars, and integrations are typically configured in the first few days. Your Eden implementation lead handles the heavy lifting; your team's time investment is usually 4–8 hours total.
Which has better integrations?
Envoy has a larger total integration count (100+ vs Eden's 40+), particularly in niche access-control hardware and the long tail of sales/marketing tools. Eden covers the integrations 95% of workplace teams actually use: Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace, all major SSO providers (Okta, OneLogin, Azure AD, Ping, SAML), all major HRIS systems (BambooHR, Workday, Rippling, Gusto, Hibob), and the leading access control platforms (Brivo, Kisi, OpenPath). Audit your actual integration list against both vendors before deciding.
Is Eden enterprise-ready?
Eden serves SMB and mid-market teams (50–2,000 employees, 1–10 locations) very well. SOC 2 Type II certification, HIPAA compliance, AWS hosting, GDPR/CCPA, SAML SSO, SCIM provisioning, and dedicated account management are all available. Where larger enterprises sometimes choose Envoy instead: ISO 27001 certification (Envoy has it, Eden does not currently) and multi-region data residency. If you're 5,000+ employees with global compliance requirements, talk to both vendors and let security teams weigh in early.
Do Eden and Envoy both work with Slack and Microsoft Teams?
Both integrate, but Eden was built with Slack and Teams as first-class interfaces — employees can book desks, submit tickets, register visitors, and get delivery notifications without leaving their chat tool. Envoy's Teams and Slack integrations are real but feel more like notification surfaces than full interaction layers. If you want adoption to happen inside Slack/Teams rather than on a separate dashboard, Eden has the edge here.
Can I try Eden before committing?
Yes. After a brief demo, Eden offers a 14-day trial so your team can use the actual product in your actual office. The demo first ensures you're set up with the right modules and features — most trials fail because the buyer didn't know what was available. Book a 30-minute demo to start.
What if we already use Envoy for visitors only?
A common path: keep Envoy for visitor management if you're happy with it, and add Eden for desk booking, room scheduling, deliveries, and internal ticketing alongside. Both systems can run in parallel via Slack/Teams notifications and shared SSO. Over time, most teams consolidate onto one platform — but there's no requirement to migrate visitors immediately if that piece is working.
